These are the regulation for labeling food products produced under the Florida Cottage Foods regulations.

        Labeling Requirements

Name and physical address of the cottage food operation

        Name of the product

Ingredient list for the product in descending order by weight

Net weight or net volume of the product

Allergen information as required by federal law

        Milk, Eggs, Wheat, Peanuts, Soybeans

Fish (including shellfish, lobster, crab, or shrimp)

Tree nuts (almonds, pecans, walnuts, etc.)

Selling directly to consumers under the Cottage Food Law provides an opportunity for new, small scale food processors to “test the waters” and see if operating a food business is the right fit for them. The law also enables farmers who sell produce at farmers markets and on-farm markets to expand their product lines to include things like baked goods, honey, preserves and other home canned goods such as pickles.

            Approved Cottage Food Products

            Loaf breads, rolls, biscuits

            Cakes, pastries and cookies

            Candies and confections

            Honey

            Jams, jellies and preserves

            Fruit pies and dried fruits

            Dry herbs, seasonings and mixtures

            Homemade pasta

            Cereals, trail mixes and granola

            Coated or uncoated nuts
